Description

Russian Hill, one of San Francisco’s original seven hills that formed this iconic city, is the setting for this fully furnished two-bedroom, one and a half bath stately 1907 Edwardian craftsman. Settlers named Russian Hill for a cemetery of wayfaring Russian sailors discovered atop it in the 19th century. The cemetery was eventually removed, but this neighborhood continues to be a beacon for travelers. Considering its location at the heart of this famous city, it’s no wonder. Now you can be the next traveler to this most famous of hills from this gorgeous home.

For visiting tech workers, San Francisco is a dream destination. The lineup of famous tech firms here tops the nation: Salesforce.com, Uber, AirBnb, Lending Club, Autodesk, LinkedIn, EBay, Zendesk, Twitter, Credit Karma, Twitch, Zynga, Splunk, Lyft, Dolby, Macys.com, Pinterest, Cisco, Lucasfilm, Fitbit, Square Inc., Adobe, and Dropbox. Professors will enjoy close access to USCF, USF, and UC Berkeley, while travel nurses and doctors will be just a few minutes from Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, Chinese Hospital, and UCSF’s Benioff Children’s Hospital. The Fortune 500 plays here too; McKesson, PG&E, Gap, Charles Schwab, Williams-Sonoma, Levi Strauss, Big Heart Pet Brands, and Wells Fargo have set their course for San Francisco.

Your journey to this new high tech oasis takes you via the old world. Russian Hill’s charms begin with a stroll through the steep hills of this enclave – so bring your best walking shoes. Lombard Street is one of cities most famous destinations; a steep street of switchbacks made so due to the 27% grade on which it runs. Coit Tower and its murals are here in Russian Hill, a 210-foot monument to the creativity of this place. Enjoy the pastel Victorians of this upscale area and walk just ten minutes to North Beach for a pastry and a cappuccino. Feet tired? Get a traditional foot massage on Grant Street, or hop a cable car for a quick rest before you explore Washington Square, the bustle of Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz. You’ll be floored by the ease of reaching these beautiful sights. It’s 1½ blocks to the cable car on Hyde Street, and a short ride to Lombard, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, Union Square, and the Financial District. If you’ll have a car, you can explore points beyond easily via the nearby 101 or Route 280. Be sure to request the available reserved parking space when booking.

Enter via a steep graded sidewalk and a few short steps to the main entry, where hardwood floors lead you through a wainscoted corridor that reveals a charming and spacious two-bedroom flat. Art deco décor lends charm throughout. The living room is a vivid, bright space with a three-seat pullout sleeper sofa, armchair and ottoman, and huge 50 inch LCD Smart TV with cable and Wi-Fi. The newly renovated kitchen has beautiful original tile work from the 1920s, its own breakfast table, a gas range and cabinet mounted microwave, and stainless steel dishwasher you can load up while jamming to your favorite tunes on the Bose dock provided. The kitchen is stocked with all the cookware, vintage dishware and cookbooks you need to make your own feasts. Tea and coffee will be provided complimentary, too. The two bedrooms are luxuriously appointed. The master offers a king bed on matching solid wood frame, art deco accents and period furniture. The second bedroom features a Queen bed, original pocket doors opening on the living room, and a collection of authentic Plein-Air paintings. The full bath has a separate toilet and shower room, as is traditional for this Edwardian, in addition to vintage tile and mirrors. There’s a washer and dryer in the unit for laundry day ease, a telephone with free domestic calls. You can’t smoke anywhere on the property, but you’ll need to save your breath for those beautiful walks, anyway. You can get some fresh air in the backyard patio area, which is shared with the owner, an adorable space lit with string lights and adorned with flowering plants. It’s a peaceful retreat in an already tranquil area. From here, you can enjoy all the ambiance of San Francisco from this dream flat in one it most famous and convenient locations.
